Defense contractor Northrop Grumman and three universities announced on
Tuesday that they would form a research consortium to find and develop solutions
to current cybersecurity challenges.
The alliance, dubbed the Northrop Grumman Cybersecurity Research Consortium (NGCRC),
brings together the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Computer Science and
Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL), Carnegie Mellon University's CyLab, and
Purdue University's Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance
and Security (CERIAS). The group intends to focus on difficult cybersecurity
problems, such as the attribution of cyber attacks, securing critical
infrastructure and identifying risks in the supply chain, the group said in a
statement.
