Research carried out by Bell Micro, the IT systems distributor, claims to
show that 67% of organisations believe there is a greater threat to their IT
systems security and integrity from within their organisation than from hackers
outside.
Yet, when questioned, just 8% of the security survey respondents said they
had effective processes in place for removing employee credentials and details
from their IT systems.
34% of respondents to the security survey, which took in responses from 97
organisations, said that their processes were `very good' at removing employee
details.
At the same time, just 4% confessed to not having any security credential
removal process in place. Additionally, the IT systems distributor said, the
findings also identified 2% of organisations were unsure of any issues.
