Symantec is introducing a security service designed to protect companies from
web-based attacks.
The company said that the new Web Security Monitoring service provides
round-the-clock protection from browser and web application vulnerabilities.
The subscription service, which is designed to complement existing enterprise
security appliances and services, alerts administrators of potential attacks and
vulnerabilities.
The company said that the service is specifically designed to root out and
detect malware infections that may be transmitting data through IRC or other
channels designed to operate without catching the eye of administrators.
